A MESSAGE FROM DR. CHEBULTZ:

Country Place is a TAP school!

Country Place has been designated a TAP school starting in the 2012-2013 school year. The federal Teacher Incentive Fund Grant has been awarded to LESD led by Arizona State University in coordination with the U.S. Department of Education, Arizona Department of Education, and the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching. The goals of the grant project include increasing student achievement, retaining highly effective educators, and fostering exemplary school culture in the highest-need communities across the state.

NOTES & HIGHLIGHTS:

The Westside Impact school districts have high standards for their students. In order for these standards to be maintained, the teaching staffs in our schools are also held to a high level of excellence. Teachers that work long hours to create outstanding instructional programs for their students are the norm in Westside Impact schools. Although there are many excellent teachers, they are rarely recognized for their tireless efforts. We would like to congratulate Ms. Savana Kretchmar for being named the Westside Impact 2012 "Teacher of the Year" at Country Place Elementary School. She will be recognized by the district at an awards ceremony on May 7. Teacher's names and school will be read to the audience as the recipients receive a plaque and $100 to commemorate their award.

Ms. Karen Hook received a $500 U.S. Airways Field Trip Fund for the 3rd grade to visit the Arizona Science Center!

A Safety Tip:  Know Your Limits in the Heat
The most important weapon in the fight against heat exhaustion and heat-stroke is water, and plenty of it.  Children should drink a glass before they head outside, and once outdoors, they should have a water bottle that they drink from regularly.
